Wine as a Momento
Wine as a gift – either for the bride and groom, or for the bridal party or guests – is a perfect and personal way to remember your special day. Here are some of my favorite ideas:
- Purchase a 3 liter or larger bottle of red wine and ask your guests to sign the bottle when they arrive at the reception. Then, when you celebrate your 10-year anniversary, you can invite many friends and family over and enjoy not only a well-aged wine, but reminisce about your wedding day.
- Wine as a wedding favor is a great gift. To personalize it, the bride and groom can sign and date each bottle using a gold marker. Your guests can remember your wedding when they decide to open it. If you're on a budget (and who isn't), consider providing one bottle per family, rather than one per guest.
- Wine can also be given to the bridal party as a remembrance of the day. Write your names plus your wedding date on the bottle. Then take the time to attach a special note that will remind each member of the wedding party how they contributed to your special day.
- Many times couples have been together for years and request no gifts. If this is the case, ask each guest to bring a special wine, have them sign the bottle and perhaps attach a note about why they've brought this particular wine for you. When each bottle is opened, it's a reminder of your special day that can be enjoyed for years to come.
