Diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at a young age, Kristy persevered. A highly successful junior player, she attended the University of South Carolina, where she earned First-Team All-American honors three times and twice claimed victory in the Southeastern Conference Championship.
Her first four years as a pro, Kristy competed on the Duramed Futures Tour, the official developmental tour of the LPGA. Every year, she was near the leaders in scoring average and was a perennial top-10 player on the Money List. In 2006, Kristy achieved her goal by claiming two Futures Tour victories and finishing the year 4th on Tour's Money List - earning herself exempt status for the 2007 LPGA Tour season.
In 2008, Kristy has been one of the top American players on the LPGA Tour. In fact, during a four-week span in July and August 2008, Kristy claimed 3 top-10 finishes, led one tournament heading into the final round, scored a 65 or better in all four events and earned her career-best major finish at the Ricoh Women's British Open. Kristy, who resides in Florida, is currently ranked inside the top 25 in scoring average.
