Looking for the Latest Bridal Tips?
Mirassou Winery has once again teamed up with the wedding experts at Brides.com to bring you the hottest tips and trends in bridal. Anne Chertoff, senior editor at Brides.com, is known for her savvy bridal knowledge, and in these three videos she hones in on the key elements that will make your big day spectacular.
Flowers
This year, it's flowers, flowers, flowers! You can use flowers to decorate every element of your wedding, from your wedding stationery to your favors. Save money on flowers by using those that are in season, or buy one type of flower in bulk for your bouquets or centerpieces. Use your arrangements twice – as aisle decorations during the ceremony and on reception tables as centerpieces. Bridesmaids' bouquets can also double as table decorations. Afterwards, consider donating your wedding flowers to a local nursing home or hospital.
Dresses
Floral accents are big this year – and they’re showing up on the all-important dress. We’re seeing floral embellishments as appliqués and silk flowers on every part of the wedding dress – from the neckline to the hemline. Floral details work for any type of wedding, from garden nuptials to a city hall ceremony to a ballroom wedding. The floral look is feminine and sweet – and can match the color of the dress or the flowers in a bridal bouquet. Floral embellishments are also appearing in bridal accessories, such as jewelry and real or silk flowers in the hair.
Cake and Wine Pairings
Food and wine play an important role in a wedding, and oftentimes can be the biggest part of the budget. To stretch wedding dollars, brides and grooms are looking beyond the traditional for elements that can work overtime. A budget-friendly idea is to choose a red and white wine that can be served with appetizers, the main course and dessert. Wine with dessert? Absolutely! Riesling pairs beautifully with traditional wedding cake. Or, if you have a more unique dessert in mind – say, chocolate truffles or a torte, serve it with a Cabernet. Your guests can toast with the wine they’re already enjoying! Don’t forget to embellish the cake or dessert with real blooms or sugar flowers, or even edible gold leaf. Anne goes the extra mile by showcasing her wines in gorgeous Reed & Barton stemware.
